Josh Collmenter - South Bend Silver Hawks - Arizona Diamondbacks

In 2008 I decided that I could take baseball photos.  On a nice sunny Sunday in April ‘08, some friends of mine and I went to South Bend to watch the Whitecaps play the Silver Hawks. I brought my camera and the first in-game pitcher photos that I had ever taken was of a South Bend pitcher.  I didn’t know his name or where he was from.  I didn’t matter to me.  I was just trying to figure things out.

Fast forward to now.

I see that that Tigers are going up against an Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher named Josh Collmenter from Homer, Michigan.  He has an over the top style.  I remembered that style because it’s unique, and I remembered a South Bend pitcher that way.  Sure enough, it’s the same pitcher from my very first time shooting baseball from ‘08.

It’s funny how things happen…
