(photo my me) - That’s a statue of legendary Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne
Yesterday I went to the land of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN) and visited the College Football Hall of Fame. I had a great time. I prefer college football over the NFL, so I had a feeling that I would enjoy it. I learned quite about the history of football, it’s advancements, and finally put some faces to some of the historical names. I also was able to see some really old equipment and uniforms. There were many interactive things there such as training area and the guess the play are. Many trophies were displayed, such as rivalry trophies, championship trophies, as well as individual ones, such as the Heisman Trophy. I really liked some of the original artifacts from the early 1900’s like footballs, jerseys, books, etc.. Historical, prominent, and rival teams were displayed frequently. I really liked some of the paintings that were displayed. I kind of freaked for a second when I went into the mini theatre. Several life sized statues were in there and they were hooked up with audio. It took me a minute to realize that I was the only person in there because it was dark. Being a Michigan State football fan, I was quite happy to see a historical display on some legendary Spartan players and coaches. I had only been there five minutes when I heard the Michigan State fight song, which put a big smile on my face.
I took several pictures and you can see them here.
