Here’s another one of my favorite Christmas songs.  This one is from the influential 80’s punk rock band the Descendents.  “Christmas vacation you took a vacation from me”.

I’ll be posting some of my favorite Christmas songs over the next couple of weeks.  This is a good way to begin.  I especially love the chorus.

“It’s Christmas time again
It’s time to be nice to the people you can’t stand all year
I’m growing tired of all this Christmas cheer
You people scare me
Please stay away from my home
If you don’t wanna get beat down
Just leave the presents and then leave me alone.”

Today I put my Ipod on shuffle and “December” by Collective Soul came on. Ironically today is December 1st. This is an odd phenomenon, and not the first time that has happened.  During a winter drive a few years ago I got behind a woman driving very slow due to crappy conditions.  The song that came on the radio was “Slowride” by Foghat.  I was working on a farm and painting a trailer with black undercoat to help prevent rust.  Ironically “Paint it Black” by the Rolling Stones came on the radio as I was painting.  I was at work a few years ago and had the chance to go home early, but decided to stay 30 minutes longer, while nearly everybody else left.  Money had been tight so I figured I could use a little more.  I stayed and “Money” by Pink Floyd came on the radio.  I don’t know why this phenomenon happens to me but it does.

This is a rare video for the great song, “A Taste of Honey” by Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass.  I guess this is from about 1966.

Happy Halloween!  This punk rock song from Tsunami Bomb has a Halloweeny feel to it.  There’s an eerie organ and a monster vibe to to it.  It’s a fun song.  Look out!
